Help Eliminate Competitive Bidding for Medicare Beneficiaries
March 12, 2010
In an effort to reduce government spending through Medicare, lawmakers created a competitive bidding program for all home care providers who bill Medicare on the behalf of the beneficiary. The regulations layed out in this new program would help reduce the home care costs for the Medicare program. However, the quality of service would be greatly impacted, the number of providers allowed to service an area would be reduced to just a few limiting the choices the beneficiary has and possibly create higher medical costs for those beneficiaries that can not get the home care products they need resulting in hospitilization.
Reliable Medical Supply and many other providers have teamed up with Med Group to help eliminate the competitive biddig program and have come up with alternatives to reduce the cost of home medical costs for Medicare. Minnesota Congressman Erik Paulsen visited the Reliable Medical Supply office and met with Medicare beneficiaries that would be directly impacted by the competitive bidding program.
