The Humanitarian Poet Honors Reliable Medical Supply With a Poem of Thanks

August 11, 2010Robert Mingo The Humanitarian Poet

Robert Mingo, a customer of Reliable Medical Supply, recently composed a poem in appreciation for the service and support Reliable Medical Supply has provided for both Robert and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The poem that Robert composed is at the bottom of this article.

Robert Mingo was born in Minneapolis Minnesota and later diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. Even with such a debilitating disease, Robert continues to write poems of inspiration. “I’ve always seen poetry as a tool for dealing with life’s struggles and for teaching the world some of the lessons I’ve learned.” wrote Robert on a Press Release for the publishing of his book Poetry For The Soul. More information about his book is located at the end of this article.
Robert wrote back to Reliable Medical Supply after hearing his poem was distributed to employees. This is an excerpt from Robert’s Letter to Reliable Medical Supply……
“Thank You! That's very encouraging to a writer! My poetry corner definitely needs an update in technology. They have voice recognition software now which is the only thing that will allow me to resume writing full time again.
I've caused so much nerve damage in my thumbs from typing because I can't hold my hands over the key board, so for the last four years or so I've been using my thumbs to hold my fingers over the key board, which is quite painful but when a true poet has something really important to write nothing will hold back the wisdom of creativity.
This small letter has taken me about an hour. I tell you all this stuff not to make you feel sorry or bad for me. I tell you so you may understand how important it was for me to write a poem like that or a write a letter like this.
I fully want you to understand the enormous appreciation and respect I have for a company such as yours. Thank You for making me understand that my letters & poems do make a difference.
It really helps on those really painful days when I feel called to write a poem of positivity but try to convince myself not to bother because it won't make a difference anyways. You're living proof it does help.
I believe that everybody on earth is called to help encourage others help one another to the best of their ability. Although not everyone answers that call. Thank for being a company that does.”
Reliable Medical Supply is proud of their staff to warrant such an honor. Everyone at Reliable Medical Supply would like to thank Robert for his words of inspiration!
Thank You Reliable Medical
It’s been a long and winding road,
We have walked it all together.
Reliable Medical and MDA,
...Work together to make lives better.

This road is sometimes dreary and painful,
Yet you offer smiles when I am blue.
Wonderful people like Alicia in sales,
Who’s so nice that I smile too.

From all of the guys who daily repair.
Though I’m never treated like a number.
To all of my friends in respiratory care,
It because of you I safely slumber.

I cannot thank you enough,
For all you do for MDA.
All the ways you help and give,
This poem can never convey.

I have not much to give,
So these words I leave with you.
The impact your kindness has is enormous.
Thanks for all you do.

Here is a poem found in Robert Mingo’s published book of poems.
Beauty
Beauty is in the eye of this beholder.
I see beauty all around me.
Sometimes it’s clouded by cares of this world.
Sometimes beauty is harder to see.
Sometimes I must look much deeper.
I must see beyond my eyes.
Beauty is truly seen with the heart.
Our eyes can tell us lies.
Our eyes can also blind us to evil.
So always trust your heart.
It’s there the seedlings of beauty are planted.
Water with goodness and growing will start.
Have you heard the saying it takes one to know one?
It’s kind of the same when searching for beauty.
The more beauty I emit, The more beauty I receive.
As long as I have the heart to see.
