Service and Repair - Educational Information

Looking for more in-depth answers to your questions? You can find some of those answers here. Check back later as we expand this section with more helpful education.

Q: What information is required to receive service on chairs that were bought through another company?

A: If you are requesting repair to a patient owned piece of equipment, you did not receive that equipment from Reliable Medical and are covered under Medicare, we will need “Proof Of Purchase (POP)".   A POP would be a copy of the signed and dated original delivery ticket for the equipment being repaired.  If you need a POP you can obtain one by calling the Medicare Help Desk at 1-800-633-4227.  You can also get the information from the company that provided your equipment.  It typically takes a couple of weeks to get a POP, so it pays to plan ahead!

For all other Non-Medicare covered Medical Equipment you will need to obtain a repair detailed prescription from your physician which will be kept in our files.

Q: What do I need when taking my power wheelchair or scooter on a trip?

A: All Reliable Medical Supply batteries we sell are either Werkers or MK batteries.  If you need to know what type you have call our service department at 763-255-3799.  Most airlines need to know what type of batteries you have in your power wheelchair.  They may request a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) when you travel. Click on your type of battery to get the appropriate MSDS.
