We’ve been named a top workplace 6 years in a row, and we’re always looking for the right people.  This position involves set-up, education and follow-up on respiratory equipment, including ventilators in patient homes as well as clinical assessment.  Home care experience is preferred.  Must possess strong clinical assessment skills and work well independently as well as being a good team player.  Candidate must possess excellent communication and Customer Service skills.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivery of respiratory equipment for set up either at a Reliable Medical office or to a patient’s home as warranted.
  • Schedules and makes patient visits and telephone calls.  Provides follow up either in the home or via phone per policy.
  • Obtains and records pertinent patient information; completes forms as dictated by company policy and procedure.
  • Performs routine, preventative maintenance on respiratory equipment in patients' homes and determines that equipment meets manufacturer's specifications.
  • Instructs patients and caregivers on the proper use of respiratory equipment and necessary cleaning, safety, and infection control requirements.
  • Maintains proficiency in respiratory therapy skills.
  • Assists in the marketing and promotion of Reliable Medical’s respiratory homecare program to physicians, managed care organizations, and other health care facilities.
  • Assumes on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with policy.
  • Greets customers promptly and courteously. 
  • Obtains all information needed in order to expedite the order in conjunction with the CSR.  Determines the urgency, establishes the payer source, and notify customer of payment responsibilities.
  • Provides the customer accurate information on funding considerations, especially insurance coverage, delivery schedule, and company billing practice.
  • Is knowledgeable regarding company policy on accepting assignment, documentation requirements, returns/refunds, repairs, and inventory procedures.
  • Process all cash transactions according to protocol with special attention to accuracy and co-insurance.
  • Maintains a good driving record and carries minimum insurance required.
  • Practices and adheres to all HIPAA, HQAA, and Compliance rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

  • Maintains the minimum standards required to continue current credentialing by AARC and Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
  • Completes Continuing Education Units (CEU's) as required by the State of Minnesota
  • Reviews pertinent industry periodicals to maintain knowledge and competency
  • Leads and attends in-services on new product technology
  • Attends self-development seminars as deemed necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field highly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of directly related experience as mentioned above required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility.
  • Hearing, seeing, and talking are required for this position.
  • May require travel.
