The course title is as follows:

Q-Logic 3 Advancements: A Drive Control Evolution, The Application of Power Seating Functions; Beyond the Basics

Keeping up with changes in power wheelchair electronics is very important for the clinician and ATP working with consumers in the field. Enhancements in electronics can bring new levels of independence for a consumer. The Q-Logic 3 system has new enhancements that truly allow the electronics to be able to be customized to the individual significantly. This course will provide a hands-on approach to how specialty controls can be programmed with maximal benefit to the consumers that need these electronics. Clinical scenarios will be offered to assist with understanding the application of new features.

The provisions of power tilt, power recline and the combinations of power tilt, power recline and power leg elevation is coming under scrutiny by third-party payers. In addition there is a misconception that power adjustable seat height (aka power seat elevation) is not covered, which is inaccurate. Third-party payers are looking for assurances that the recommended power seat function(s) were evaluated for, how they replace a loss of function, and what adverse occurrence(s) may be avoided by use of the recommended feature(s). RESNA’s position papers on the need for these power seat functions will be used for discussion.

The credit hours for this course are 7 CEU's and they have been approved by the AOTA and MNPTA for Category 1 credit. The course approval code is 9796.

Speakers for this event are: Jay Doherty, OTR, ATP/SMS and Julie Piriano, PT, ATP/SMS
